This is a sequel to my "September" rewrite. Happy October everyone! If you did watch that video, you’ll see that it’s a rewrite of “September” by The Living Tombstone. I was originally going to follow that song with this song. But I got caught up in a bunch of end of college stuff, then last October I got caught up in a bunch of work stuff… and NOW I’m in the middle of moving. So I guess October is just a busy month for me. Regardless I am glad to finally get this out. These songs were part of a bit of writing practice for me, which I think helped me with other lyric stuff. Really I, just fully enjoyed this song that Evdog wrote as his own sequel to “September”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYTWfRBALcM I think it is very under-appreciated, and you should check it out. This is part of my tribute to both songs. Together they tell the tale of an archaeologist whom suffered from schizophrenia and develops a full on multiple personality when exposed to a powerful ancient evil artifact. He continues his researching, being driven by his evil half to seek out more forbidden objects, all the while hiding the second personality from the rest of the world. Eventually his evil side takes over more of his waking life and he becomes the second personality. He doesn’t realize this until it’s too late, when the evil half casts a spell with a cursed orb called the “Winter’s Pearl”… It creates essentially ice zombies that suck all the life and warmth wherever they go, and whomever they prey on. That energy is fed into the life force of the user, making them functionally immortal. No one knows what would happen if you destroy the orb… Someday I might write a whole short story off of this, but for now you’ll have to enjoy these two little songs.
