King of the Horde

Description

A progressive metal song based on the episode "Dragon Quest" from "MLP: Friendship is Magic". The second song on my upcoming concept album; a continuation of the first song named "Misbegun". Listen that one here: https://youtu.be/jP0DDFs2Nx4 My first concept album, taking place in Equestria, is named "Dead Wings of Grace" but may be subject to change. The album will contain three songs telling the same continuous story. The first part of the story, named "Misbegun", is about Spike, the baby dragon, who leaves Ponyville to find his true self and purpose in the Badlands where the dragons (The Horde) hail. There's a lot more to it than this, but it's more interesting to leave it to your own interpretation. The second song, named "King of the Horde", focuses on when Spike meet these other dragons and, eventually (after an unspecified amount of time), becomes the king. The third and final song, named "Their Blackest Day", will focus on when Spike has become the king of The Horde and leads them to annihilate Ponyville, Canterlot and Cloudsdale. My concept album(s) takes place in a different type of Equestria where things are more harsh and dark. Think of it as a mix of Dark Souls and the show. In this Equestria, the dragons are called "The Horde" and have a history with the region around Ponyville, Canterlot and Cloudsdale. 1000 years ago, The Horde was banished to the Badlands by Queen Celestia. Once again, there's a lot more to it than this. This song has been under the rug for about 4 years, if not more. I'm thrilled to finally see it complete and out in the world! Similar to Misbegun, this song has parts that act as a tribute to Opeth and Onslaught. Recorded, mixed and mastered using Cubase 5.
